Student Teaching Internships Print E-mail

Are you in your junior year of college and interested in student teaching internationally? This may be your chance.

Start by checking with your Department Chair or student teaching supervisor to see if it is possible to complete your practicum at an international school.

Then, contact the school where you are considering doing your student teaching to see if there are openings available. You may be referred to an agency to complete this process. Applications for student teaching positions should be completed early. In some cases this may mean a year before you plan to go.

Mission:Teach does not arrange student teaching opportunities; however, its member schools and sending organizations may.

Christian Colleges and Universities that are members of the CCTECC may direct their teacher education students to seek placement with this program.

International schools usually offer two options:

  1. The school will set up the student teaching opportunity and help you with logistics—application to student teach, Visas, housing, transportation, etc.
  2. The school will recommend a sending organization to help you with the logistics—application to student teach, visas, housing, transportation, etc.
